I think a lot of people compare themselves with others. I did too. Especially when I came to the US.
I compared myself how other people look like. I always thought that “She” is more beautiful than me. She is more confident. She gets all that she wants.
While I came to my rented room and ate Carrot cake and donuts while watching Russian movies. My hobbies were watching movies, food, and shopping.
Then I dated guys and wanted to be liked. And every time something didn’t work out I blamed myself... I should change. Lose weight, be more open. I really didn’t understand what, but I needed to change.
Living for 7 years in the US I never had a best friend. I tried to make friends but It didn't work. People always saw me as not very friendly and I thought again what is wrong with me?
And all the time I was thinking I just need to find my perfect partner who will take care of me, and figure out how we will live.
3 years ago I found Astrology.
I always liked astrology, I read horoscopes. But the information I read online didn’t change my perception of who I am.
I think the biggest change for me was to know my Karma.
If I wanted to find a man who will take care of me and “Figure it out”. My Karma is the complete opposite - Live for myself. I should work on myself, should improve, and transform myself. Live for me.
You may think is it easy. Just live for yourself. But it was so difficult for me - I never take care of myself. All I did it to kinda dress nice and that’s all. But my karma is to take courses, go to the spa, have a personal stylist, work on myself, learn myself.
So when I changed the focus of trying to change a man - to working on myself life started to change.
Then I learned about my strengths - oh boy! If you would see my Sun! ( Astrology term)! Now I never compare myself to someone else! I learned I am very determined, active, creative, different, not predictable, spiritual.
A lot of sense is made also in how other people see me! Now I understand why I looked not so friendly and cold. People see me and Snow Queen - very cold and unfriendly. But now I know why and I am working on it!
And last what I share is hobbies! I have so many of them now which I really enjoy - Astrology, Feng Shui, Jewelry, Painting, Swimming, Working out, Running, Meditation, Spiritual development, Modeling, Comedy.. the list goes on and on

I’d always wanted to buy designer clothes, but I didn’t allow myself to buy them. I was under the impression that I was not good enough.
